So Whats Your Creative Space Like?

I want to help connect makers, its exciting to see a creative space and imagine the work that gets done there. I think we all learn a bit about each other looking into these creative spaces.

Your space might be absolutely tiny or humongous, super minimalist or a holders haven either way lets share with each other and see where this project goes.

How to get involved

Please send a vertical video of around 2 minutes. Up to 3 minutes is absolutely fine.

You do not need to edit anything. I’ll take care of that.

WHAT TO FILM

Start by introducing yourself on camera in your workspace.

Tell us your name, where you’re based and what you make.

Then show us around your space. Move the camera slowly and give us time to actually look at things.

It would be great to see:

Your overall workspace, your main workbench or making area, favourite or important tool
Some of the work you make
Any unusual, personal or interesting details in your space, your hands working, if you’d like

Try to hold each shot still for a few seconds rather than constantly moving the camera.

QUESTIONS TO ANSWER

Please answer these on camera:

  1. What does making by hand mean to you?

  2. Do you plan your work carefully, or figure it out as you go?

  3. What part of your workspace feels most important to you?

  4. Does your best work happen in isolation, in community, or somewhere in between the two?

Don’t worry about giving polished answers. Natural is much better.

You also don’t need to answer everything in one uninterrupted take. If you stumble, pause and start again. I’ll edit the final piece together.

PHOTOS

If possible, please also include 3–5 photographs of your workspace, your tools or some of the work you make.

These can be vertical or horizontal.

UPLOADING YOUR FILES

Please upload the highest-quality original files from your phoneThe final submission should ideally include:

One 2–3 minute vertical video
A few short clips of your workspace
3–5 photographs
Your name, location and social media details

Thanks for taking part in Show Me Your Space. The whole idea is to share real people, real workspaces and real making.
