Welcome to The School of Jewellery Ireland T&Cs.

These T & Cs are intended to be practical and non-restrictive and we operate a friendly and informal learning environment. This being noted, there are some common sense T & C’s that we expect all students and staff to embrace.

The School of Jewellery Ireland (TSOJI) are committed to processing personal information about our customers in ways that comply with our legal obligations as well as being clear with our customers about what we do with their personal information. Some of the key points of TSOJI’s privacy statement are:

  • We don’t sell your data to third parties.

  • We do make it easy for you to manage your information, you can change your communication preferences at any time.

  • We do use data to help us provide great customer service, which includes tailoring the information we share with you to help ensure that it’s relevant, useful, and timely.

Part Time Courses - Your Course Booking

  • A part-refundable (fully transferable) full course payment confirms your place on any course.

  • No place can be confirmed without full payment.

  • Your course fee relates to the course that you have booked and the specific class time that you have chosen.

  • Classes within courses are non-transferable.

  • In the event that you are unable to attend the course that you have booked, your course payment may be transferred at the discretion of The School of Jewellery Ireland and subject to availability on an alternative course.

  • Course transfer requests will only be accepted up to three weeks prior to booked commencement dates. Thereafter, your full course payment will be forfeited.

  • Only one booking transfer can be permitted.

  • In the event that you do not attend a course, or do not notify us that you will not be attending and arrange an alternative course, your course fee will be forfeited in its entirety.

  • Course classes that are not completed by choice or non-attendance are not refundable or transferable-this includes courses that are not completed due to ill health or other unforeseen circumstances including force majeure on either part.

  • There is a 7 day cooling off period from the day of booking- during which you will receive a full refund (less administrative fees of 5%) if requested.

  • This cooling off period does not apply if the course start date is within 7 days of booking date.

  • There is no facility to redeem unfulfilled classes due to circumstances that are beyond our control, ie. weather warnings etc.

  • If you have any health issues or are pregnant, please notify The School at the time of booking.

  • A fluent understanding of English is required in order to complete any course.

  • If you arrive without adequate English to understand instruction you will be asked to leave, and your course fee will be forfeited.

  • It is at the discretion of The School of Jewellery Ireland to accept or reject your enrolment on any course. 

  • The School of Jewellery Ireland reserves its option to re-locate the School faculty with notice and without interruption to the Students learning and to the smooth running of any course. 

 Safe Practice in the Studio

  • It is advisable that you wear sensible footwear (no sandals or high heels).

  • Long hair must be tied back at all times please.

  • Always be considerate of others and act responsibly - you are not just responsible for your own health and safety, but for that of those around you as well.

  • All printed worksheets at the School of Jewellery Ireland are protected under copyright law. It breaches all agreements that you have made with the School of Jewellery to copy, photograph or remove any printed worksheets.

  • Projects undertaken by students at The School of Jewellery Ireland are at the discretion of your tutor.

  • You are not permitted to use equipment or machinery unless the tutor is in the workshop and until you’ve had an induction from the tutor and have been supervised whilst using the equipment for the first time.

  • It is your responsibility to make sure that you understand how to use the machinery, tools, equipment and chemicals that you have been shown. If you are not sure, please ask your tutor.

  • Always refer to the Safe Systems of Work notices (located near each machine and soldering station) before using it, following the instructions for PPE (personal protective equipment) such as safety glasses, aprons, gloves and masks. If you are not sure, please ask your tutor.

  • Although every effort will be made to ensure your safety, The School of Jewellery Ireland will not be held liable for any injury that may occur as a result of student negligence.

  • NEVER wear gloves when using rotary machinery such as polishing motors.

  • At the end of each class, tools must be cleaned, wax blades removed from saws, tools returned to their proper places and work surfaces and lemel (brass or silver filings from the leather bench skin) put in the appropriate lemel pot and your bench cleaned and swept down.

 

General Practice 

The School of Jewellery understand a student's need to get inspiration from other Design Influences within reason and we encourage your individual design development. However, the Copyright Laws are strictly adhered to in The School of Jewellery and we are bound to protect the Design Copyright of our Student's, Tutor's and other Craftspeople.

The School of Jewellery Ireland reserves the right to amend and update these T & Cs at any time during the course of any programme and any alteration will be informed to students via email or notices posted throughout the School.

The School shall be under no liability whatsoever, for any loss or damage to student’s property, while on the premises.


Enrolment in any course at The School of Jewellery Ireland indicates acceptance of all of the aforementioned T & Cs. If you do not accept the T & Cs, you must bring this to the attention of the tutor before the start of any course in which you are enrolled.

Terms & Conditions - Product Purchases

Welcome to The School of Jewellery Ireland online Terms & Conditions for purchases from our website - www.theschoolofjewellery.ie. The following are the terms and conditions for purchase of products from www.theschoolofjewellery.ie and constitutes your agreement to follow and be bound by these terms, which may at any time be amended. Your use at any time thereafter constitutes your agreement to be bound by the terms as amended.

GENERAL

Unless you indicate otherwise your use of the Site constitutes your agreement to the Company replying to you by electronic mail for such purposes as we consider appropriate. The Company does not accept any responsibility to the extent that the Site is connected to any other sites or services beyond its control.

It is the policy of The School of Jewellery Ireland to ensure that all goods are supplied to our customers in perfect condition and that every possible precaution is taken to protect the integrity of the product that is sold. We always use reputable delivery methods for the delivery of our products.

Currency rates may vary and will be charged at exchange rate on the day that your order is received - managed and maintained by the Credit Card Company. 

The Company reserves the right to refuse to supply any individual or company and reserves the right to deny access to the Site. The School of Jewellery Ireland cannot be responsible for delays due to custom regulations outside the EU.

The School of Jewellery Ireland's registered business number (RBN) is 543972. This site is currently provided in English only.

RETURNS

If you are not satisfied with your product and wish to return it, you must complete a ‘Return Request’ form within 7 CALENDAR DAYS of receiving your product. However, all returns are subject to the Terms & Conditions below. Please read before proceeding to apply for a RETURN REQUEST form - please email us for this form.

  • Return costs will be at the expense of the consumer

  • All returned products must be unused, in its original packaging and in re-saleable condition

  • Returns cannot be accepted for earrings, made to order commissions or personalized products.

  • Where a product is faulty, it must be sent back in its original packaging. The maker will either fix the faulty product or if necessary, will replace the product.

  • Once a ‘Return Request’ has been generated, a member of our team will be in touch with further details (e.g the address of the maker to send the product back to). 

  • We do not accept responsibility for goods lost or damaged during return. We suggest you send your products back either by registered post or with a courier that offers Track n Trace. We also advise customers to insure returns against loss or damage.

This Returns Policy is in accordance with The European Directive on Distance Selling (Directive 97/7/EC). These terms do not affect your statutory rights.

DELIVERY 

Every effort will be made to have your products delivered in a prompt and efficient manner, however this can be delayed due to circumstances beyond our control. Although we provide an indication of typical delivery times, specific delivery times or dates cannot be guaranteed.

Delivery shall be charged in accordance with the destination chosen. We do not offer expedition services at present. Amendments to delivery details cannot be made after the order has been placed - please check all details before submitting your order. Please note The School of Jewellery Ireland cannot be responsible for adverse weather conditions affecting delivery.

Proof of delivery from a courier shall be good evidence of delivery of the specific gift(s) as requested by the customer and no question shall be raised as to delivery of individual items therein, if you require a proof of delivery you must contact us directly via email and allow us an appropriate amount of time to get this information from our shipping agents. Risk in respect of goods transfers to you, the buyer, upon execution of delivery docket.

You are responsible for providing correct daytime delivery address, local daytime telephone number and postal code. Our couriers will only call the number provided if direction is needed to the delivery address and not to arrange a delivery. If the recipient is not home to accept delivery the courier may leave a notification card as to where the property is accessible.

 

CUSTOMS FEES & SALES TAXES

Please note that any Customs Fees or local Sales Taxes incurred are the responsibility of the purchaser.

DELIVERY DIFFICULTY

Every effort will be made to have your products delivered on the dates indicated but specific delivery times or dates cannot be guaranteed.

We rely on our delivery partners to always use their logic when delivering parcels and are faced with a situation where nobody is home.

The Company cannot accept responsibility for late or non-delivery if recipient address and telephone details are insufficient or incorrect. Any additional charges/ costs incurred in the completion of a delivery (redelivery) due to incomplete original recipient information from the purchaser or the recipients being unable to accept the item in the time frame specified will be liable for all related charges and costs. This applies to national and international deliveries.

If the recipient fails to make contact with a delivery partner in good time (within 3 working days) and the goods are returned to The School of Jewellery a charge will be made for re delivery. Any shortfall of which you become aware must be notified to the Company within 2 days of receipt of goods.

Claims for non-delivery must be made within 20 days of the goods being shipped. The School of Jewellery Ireland cannot be responsible should local customs authorities wish to confiscate any product or any particular item contained in a gift. All delivery lead times are pending customs - this means if customs wish to hold a gift for inspection it can cause a delay and is out of our control. If an item is temporarily out of stock, we will notify you of the delay and ship as soon as it arrives. All items are subject to availability. Once an order has been processed no amendments can be made to your order.

PAYMENT

We accept payment online via Stripe payment processor using all major cards.  We also accept Bank Transfers - please contact us by email to arrange these details.

Goods will only be shipped once payment has been received in full. All products remain the property of the maker until payment is received in full.

All transactions are processed in Euros and currency conversions are solely the responsibility of our transactional service provider.

IMAGES

Every reasonable effort has been made to accurately reflect actual colours however due to variances between monitors, colours cannot be guaranteed.

On occasions, there may be minor differences between the product’s appearance in the photograph and the item delivered.

OWNERSHIP RIGHTS & LIMITATION

All goods are the property of The School of Jewellery Ireland until all goods and all outstanding debts to the Company have been paid for in full.

This Site, its contents together with any trade names used by the Company are protected by intellectual property rights and permission is only given for personal use. Any use beyond that permitted may constitute an infringement of owners’ rights and may be prosecuted.

LIMITATION AS TO DAMAGES

The Company shall take all reasonable care in packaging any fragile or breakable items. In the event that any such items are damaged in transit the Company shall be responsible for replacement costs of item only.

Any damage to the parcel or contents must be reported within 2 days of receipt of goods. The Company shall not in any way be responsible for any personal injury or damage to property howsoever caused.

The Company shall not in any way be responsible for any damage or any indirect loss caused by such howsoever arising.

CANCELLATIONS

Any amendments or cancellations to an order must be submitted in writing before the order has been processed. All orders are processed within 24hrs of receiving them.
